Beijing 2008: Catalan talent infiltrates Spain

There is no doubt that Catalonia has always acted as a hothouse for
domestic basketball talent. In recent years, however, the number of
home-grown players produced has been phenomenal. Even a glance at the
make-up of Spain's national squads reveals the dominance of Catalan
basketball players, with eight of the 15 players called up for
national duty in Beijing coming from Catalonia and a further eight
currently in the national reserve team. (Full story in printed
edition).

I agree with this opinion but I think that basketball isn't the only sport wich catalan people have importance. In hokey or in handball, for example, there are a big number of Catalans. Even so I shouldn't discredit the importance of the rest of Spanish players because the sum of catalan and spanish people are equal to a great team.

when I read this text I become interesting because it's very important for Catalonia. I think that the most of the players in basketball who play for Spain are from Catalonia. There are three or four persons in the USA for the NBA, this competition is very important. There are the best players of the world. Pau Gasol is one of this players, he is playing in Lakers(california). In my opinion, He is one of the best players in the NBA. His brother Marc Gasol also play in NBA but in the team "greezlies", is very important for his team.
